PART  1

PANGEL B20

Performance characteristics

PANGEL B20 has excellent thixotropic, suspending and anti-sag properties and does not require the use of polar activators for pre-dispersion.

PANGEL B20 has strong pseudoplasticity and can provide high consistency without affecting the construction viscosity. It can be used as an efficient anti-sedimentation additive in high-solid formulas.

Compared with other additives in industrial coatings, PANGEL B20 has excellent advantages in preventing pigments and fillers from settling; controlling sagging without affecting leveling; and maintaining high stability during transportation and storage.

Recommendations

The dispersion process of PANGEL B20 is similar to other solid ingredients in the formula, requiring proper product wetting and large mechanical energy (shear force): direct addition using high shear equipment , or preparation of pre-gel process .

Add directly using high shear equipment

When using PANGEL B20, it is recommended to add it in the following order
  • Resin/Solvent

  • Wetting agent/dispersing agent

  • Pigments/fillers

  • PANGEL B20

During the stirring process, the mixture must be dispersed at a high peripheral speed (18-25 m/s).

Preparation of pre-gel process additions

  • Xylene (or water): 90%

  • PANGEL B20:10%

First stir at low speed for 5 minutes, rotating speed is 800-1000, adjust the rotating speed to 2500-3000, and stir for 15 minutes.
